Business Services
Business Services are those activities that are
essential to every Australian business enabling it to function
and connecting it to its customers and the community. These
activities are either internally or externally provided to a
business.
The Business Services curriculum framework has
been developed to provide students with the opportunity to gain
credit towards the NSW Higher School Certificate while at the
same time achieving a credit towards a national qualification
(Certificate II in Business Services Administration) under the
Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
The Business Services framework is designed to enable students
to acquire a range of technical, personal and organisational
skills valued both within and beyond the workplace. Students
will acquire through this course the underpinning skills and
knowledge necessary to function within the business services
industry.
Within the Business Services framework there are
4 themes which include: management and administration; human
resource management; sales marketing and advertising; and
accounting and finance. This framework is based on the national
endorsed training package and it specifies the
industry-developed units of competency suitable for the purposes
of the Higher School Certificate. This course is a two unit “B”
Category subject.
