Minutes of meeting held Monday 5th November 2007 at 7 pm

23rd November official opening of new kitchen. Invitations to go to P & C members.

Current toilet block – blocks repainted with anti-graffiti paint and refurbished.

$44,000 grant approval for plumbing renovations/auto-shut off taps.

HSC finished this week.

SC starts 12 November.

Years 9, 8, 7 maths test in main hall.

24 new computers arrived at school plus 20 new computers for I.E.C.

Science department now has a full set of lap tops (20).

Maths Department first ‘smart board’ (computerised white-board).

Decking next to hall has awnings and furniture.

Sails installed in other parts of playground during Christmas school holidays.

E.S.L. (English as Second Language) has 4.6 full time teachers to support all classes of K.H.S. in 2008.

Years 7 – 11 need and receive more support, but other years will be better supported with extra teachers.

New E.S.L. program is able to identify the students in need of specific support to be placed in the best possible class situation.

Points raised – more excursions necessary for students.

Weeks 1 and 2 of term 4, why was library closed during lunch and recess? Library needs to be open or rostered planned if Librarian is not at school.

Library – water not allowed in Library, is there an official school policy?

No timetable set for end of year exams – lower classes (7 – 9) don’t know when they will sit. Best if dates are posted on Website.
