Minutes of meeting held Monday 18 February 2008 at 7 pm
Attendance:

Principals Report:
UAI even spread in Year 12.
First year of Gifted and Talented class to sit HSC – top 20% of State.
Dux Award Year 12, 26 February awards.
Year 7 & 8 ELLA and SNAP high results in district. Girls scored high in maths.
Good results in sport in 2007.
800 students for 2008 (maximum achieved).
Increased teaching and administration staff to cope with additional students.
New welfare system starting this year.
Expand playing areas.

General Business :
Fred Carosi explained Year 10 School Certificate – students graded in English, Maths, Science, Geography.
Gifted and Talented Class request for guest speaker in future meeting.
2 reports per year given, but not limited. Can get report on child’s progress any time.
Lockers in school - cost is being looked at by group of teachers and students – where to put them/convenience.
Hats – no hats in High School – encouraged, but not mandatory. Will remind students to wear hats.
More information needs to be given to parents of new year 7 students – procedures, handing in money for excursions, when are tests.

Smoking in boys toilets – more ventilation requested by other students so they don’t have to put up with a smokey toilet block.
List of text books available for parents who want to purhase own, instead of using photocopy sheets.
