Minutes of meeting held Monday 11 August 2008 at 7 pm

Principals Report
Ten Smart Boards have arrived at school and they will be installed soon.
Net area being renovated now with synthetic grass. Netball, tennis & European handball courts will be marked.
Storeroom in music room has been divided into 2 practice rooms.
Lighting in hall to be improved, hopefully by week 8 in time for evening concert.
2007 School report was distributed and will be sent to all families in the near future.
Year 12 graduation 18th September & dinner 25th September.
Year 12 graduation gowns can be hired from school.
School Captains and Prefects elections in Wk 7. Interested students must send nominations in writing to school executive & head teachers. Incoming years 11 & 12 prefects vote for School Captains.
New head teacher has been approved. Main responsibility in 2009 will be history and transforming library to an electronic library.
Maintenance assess conducted of the school. Results will be reported.
Years 8 & 10 subject selection for 2009 conducted on 15th August.
General Business
Guest speaker – Music Teacher, Darlia Brunt.
Music classes usually consist of years 7, 8. Years 9 – 11 are encouraged to form own groups for future performances.
School band practice conducted at 8am each Friday.
External instructors such as a drummer and singing teacher come to school during lunch time.
There is an instrument hire program for students who don’t have their own musical instruments.
Two combined music/art exhibition evenings are planned for week 8 in the main school hall. Details TBA.
School Laptops – Mr Carosi is still expecting laptops as promised by incoming Rudd government as promised in election. They are planned to be distributed to students in years 9, 10, 11 in 2009.

Letter sent to Kogarah council supporting renovation of oval.
